Reception Under the Tent.
Some of the most emotionally touching and beautiful weddings and wedding receptions have been those that occur outdoors. Several years ago I attended an outdoor wedding of friends, held at a now-defunct old ski lodge in Woodstock, Connecticut. It was October when the trees were bristling with oranges, browns, yellows, purples and reds. The grass was still deep green and the sky an amazing blue, teal, purple and orange. I am not doing that day justice, but it really was one of the most visually amazing days. The outdoor wedding ceremony was conducted in this awe-inspiring scene and as the “I Dos” were exchanged, a small gust created a shower of colorful leaves raining down on the guests. We then dined and danced under an unusual and cool party tent. It was decorated with the colors of fall, tiny lights, and decorated gravevines everywhere. The experience was one filled with emotion, deep lasting memories and earthly beauty that I’ll never forget.
